Privacy Policy

StyleChart is a private record of your services, formulas, products and photos that belongs to you. This policy explains what information StyleChart Technologies, LLC, a subsidiary of Whole Atlas (“StyleChart,” “we,” “us”), collects through the StyleChart apps and website, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

1. What we collect

Information you give us

Account. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an identifier for that account and, if the provider shares it and has verified it, your email address. If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email,” we receive a private relay address. We don’t use passwords, and we don’t ask for your phone number.
Profile. Your display name and, if you add them, your home city, profile photo, and sensitivities (for example, allergies or reactions a professional should know about).
Your StyleChart. Services and their dates, techniques, formulas (brands, shades, developer, timing), products, notes, photos and the angle they were taken from, and the date and time of your next appointment if you add it.
Professional profile. If you use StyleChart as a professional: your professional name, specialty, profile photo, and the connect code clients scan to share with you.
Ratings. If you rate a professional’s service, your rating and the tags you chose. Only you see your individual rating.
Sharing choices. Which professionals you share with, which categories they can see, whether they can add entries, and when access starts or ends.

Information created when you use StyleChart

Access log. When anyone other than you opens or adds to your StyleChart, we record who, what and when, and show it to you in the app.
Technical data. Our hosting providers receive standard request information such as IP address, device and browser type, and timestamps, and keep it in security and error logs.
Sign-in tokens. The app stores sign-in tokens in your device’s secure storage. Appointment reminders are scheduled on your device and aren’t sent from our servers.

What we don’t collect

We remove location data and other hidden metadata (EXIF GPS, XMP, IPTC and PNG text) from every photo before it’s stored. The apps don’t include advertising SDKs or third-party tracking, and we don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

2. How we use information

To provide StyleChart: keep your record, show it to you, and show the parts you choose to the professionals you share with.
To sign you in, keep your account secure, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems.
To send reminders and service messages you ask for.
To understand how StyleChart is used and to improve and develop features.
To create derived data, as described below.
To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Derived data

We create information derived from how StyleChart is used, such as how often services are booked, which categories, techniques, brands, shades and products are popular, and how those trends change by region or over time. Before we use derived data beyond operating your account, we de-identify and aggregate it so it doesn’t identify you, your professional, or any individual record, and we don’t attempt to re-identify it.

We may use de-identified, aggregated data for any lawful purpose, including research, product development, industry insights, and sharing or licensing it with partners such as product brands, distributors and salons. Because it can’t reasonably identify you, it isn’t personal information.

Health information is never part of derived data. Sensitivities, allergies and reactions you record are used only to show them to you and the professionals you share with. We never use them for advertising, marketing or data mining, and we never sell or license them.

With professionals you choose. A professional sees only the categories you share with them: your display name, profile photo and sensitivities, plus the services, formulas, products, photos and shared notes in those categories. They never see your home city or appointment details. You can change or revoke access anytime.
With a professional’s salon, if you choose. When a professional works in a salon, you can also share with that salon when you share with them. The salon’s owner can then view the same things your professional sees, but can’t add to your record. Every view appears in your activity, and it ends when you remove access or your professional leaves the salon.
Salon owners see counts, not clients. A salon owner sees how many services each of their professionals recorded, how many clients returned, how complete those records are, and ratings in aggregate. They never see your name or record this way, and averages only show once there are enough ratings that no single rating stands out.
From professionals, back to you. What a professional records on your StyleChart is part of your record. Notes a professional marks private are visible only to that professional.
Service providers. Companies that run StyleChart for us under contract and may only use information to provide their services: cloud hosting (Vercel), database and file storage (Supabase), sign-in (Apple and Google), app builds and delivery (Expo), and the app stores.
Legal and safety. When required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, the public or StyleChart.
Business changes. As part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, including with Whole Atlas and its affiliates, subject to this policy.
Derived data. De-identified, aggregated data as described in section 3.

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Sign in with Google. When you sign in with Google, we receive only your Google account identifier and, if Google shares it, your verified email address. StyleChart’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t transfer it to others except as needed to provide StyleChart, for security, or to comply with law.

5. Your choices and rights

Access and correct. View and edit your record and profile in the app.
Control sharing. Choose categories per professional, and revoke access anytime.
See who looked. Review your access log in the app.
Delete. Delete your account in the app under Account → Delete account. If you use Sign in with Apple, we also revoke StyleChart’s access to your Apple ID. You can also request deletion without the app on our account deletion page.
Notifications. Turn reminders off in your device settings.
Requests. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, and to appeal a decision about your request. Email us at the address below and we’ll respond as the law requires. We won’t discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently erase your StyleChart (its entries, formulas, products, photos, notes, shares and access log), your profiles, your sign-in links and your sessions, and we remove your photo files from storage.

If you used StyleChart as a professional, services you recorded on your clients’ StyleCharts stay on those records, because they belong to your clients. Your name, photo, specialty and code are removed, and those entries show as “Former member.” Your private professional notes are deleted. Copies may remain in backups and security logs for a limited time before they’re overwritten. De-identified, aggregated data isn’t affected by deletion.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Every request to a StyleChart record goes through a single authorization check. Photos are stored privately and are only served to people allowed to see them, and access by anyone other than the owner is logged. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of a breach as the law requires.

8. Children

StyleChart isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

9. Changes and contact

StyleChart operates in the United States, and your information is stored and processed there. If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the effective date and let you know in the app or by email before they take effect.
